Move aside Caribou, the ultra-exclusive watering hole known as “The Aspen Mountain Club” redefines exclusivity in a town where black credit cards are less of a distinction than cabbage patch playing cards.

This luncheon club is located 11,200 feet above sea level atop Aspen Mountain accessible by the Silver Queen 3-mile, 16-minute, spectacularly breathtaking gondola ride.

For a $125,000 initiation-membership fee, you and your guests can dine mid-ski day in an elegant alpine wood paneled, stone fire place, country-club setting with other elite skiers and celebrities (Melanie Griffith, Antonio Banderas, Ivana Trump, and Bruce Willis are members).

Renowned New York designer David Anthony Easton anointed the club with a trove of elegant details, such as antique Austrian tables and hand-woven needlepoint rugs.

There is also a 15,000-bottle wine cellar…so by all means, enjoy the luxury life…but be responsible. If you like Pinot with your truffle fries…make sure to be responsible and take the gondola down!!!

Houstonians spotted “lunching” between runs: Meredith Cullen, Celina and Alfredo Brener, Marcy Taub, Mindy Hildebrand, Karen Goerl, Amy Phelan, Denise Rich, and Cheryl Teigs.
