Hello Jet-setters! I’m lucky enough to have homes in both Aspen and Palm Springs! I spent some time in each city this past month so if you’re looking for the perfect get-away this is your guide.
ASPEN
In my opinion, Aspen is a great place for singles!!! Couples can come and play too, but I was there over V-Day and chose to make it a single’s trip, so here is what I did and recommend.
EAT: Matsuhisa (Nobu’s sushi restaurant), or Elevation PLAY/Shop: The Caribou Club – it is members only and they do a great dinner, plus ladies it is a total meat market-yum!!! If you can’t get in there or want something more low-key try Eric’s.

This year, Cupid’s Day; coincided with The Amazing style shows, AKA Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in NYC. BUT…I had L-O-V-E in mind, and I thought I'd compile a list of mine and my Amore's favorite NYC Romantic Spots that will do the trick.:)
ENJOY...
Top of the Empire State Building
After viewing Meg Ryan in “Sleepless in Seattle”, and Cary Grant waiting for Deborah Kerr in “An Affair to Remember”, I knew the 86th floor Observation Deck at The Empire State Building would be at the top of my list of romantic spots for my darling of 8 years and I. The Empire State Building is more than a quarter of a mile high, making it the third tallest skyscraper in the Americas. The Famously Whimsical 86th level deck was designed for the fascinating panoramic views of NYC. While a much smaller observation deck on the 102nd Floor also creates a memorable scene. Between the two decks, the building has had over 110 million guests to date and is still one of the most popular and romantic views in the world.

Move aside Caribou, the ultra-exclusive watering hole known as “The Aspen Mountain Club” redefines exclusivity in a town where black credit cards are less of a distinction than cabbage patch playing cards.
This luncheon club is located 11,200 feet above sea level atop Aspen Mountain accessible by the Silver Queen 3-mile, 16-minute, spectacularly breathtaking gondola ride.
For a $125,000 initiation-membership fee, you and your guests can dine mid-ski day in an elegant alpine wood paneled, stone fire place, country-club setting with other elite skiers and celebrities (Melanie Griffith, Antonio Banderas, Ivana Trump, and Bruce Willis are members).

Oh! Paris. Just saying the name takes me back to the gardens, the countryside and the cuisine.
I only speak a few words of conversational French, but that didn’t hinder me at all from meeting new friends. I stayed at small hotel near the Saint-Lazare train station, which made getting around Paris, very convenient. The hotel was called Grand Hotel de Normandie and although it wasn’t at all upscale, it did provide a very nice breakfast of fruit, yogurt, sweet breads and coffee or tea. I found the “lift” to be less than the size of a phone booth, but as far as I’m concerned, it only added to my list of new wonders. My first night in Paris, I headed to the Eiffel Tower to find a representative from Fat Tire Bike Tours www.fattirebiketours.com; someone told me, they speak English and most of them are from Texas. Well, it was true. The couple that owns the business is actually from Austin and they recruit employees from UT and A&M Universities. I was also very happy to know that they have an internet café available for a small fee and as a bonus; they serve Heineken in the shop. My first night there, I made friends with some of the employees and we all went to dinner in the Italian Quarter, then afterwards, to drink wine, laying on the lawn in the parc de champ de mars at the Eiffel Tower. During the week, I was able to see all of Paris on just the day tour and the night “wine” tour. By the third day, I was giving directions to other tourists and felt quite comfortable in my surroundings.

Looking for something fun, interactive and original to do with the family, and not anywhere close to Napa or France? Why not check out Texas Wine Country? Texas is the 5th largest wine producing state in the US and Messina Hoff controls 25% of all grapevines planted in Texas, and is the largest grape grower in the High Plains region, with grape vines covering 500 acres. It’s the 2nd largest tourist attraction in Brazos County bringing in more than 250,000 visitors per year. It’s located in Bryan, Texas by College Station.

Houston's great in the summer, if you have access to a pool for the parties on the weekends and sometimes weeknights, but it's not always enough, because sometimes you just need to get out of town.
Harley (my pup) and I headed out of town this past week to enjoy the great outdoors in the amazing state of Colorado. The scenery was worth the adventure and the clean air worth the mileage I put on my car....which by the way, I get up to 30 mpg on the road. Yeah! Volkswagen!
My Broadway-bound performance in the car of Les Miserables, and a whole slew of popular Disney songs, didn't seem to bother Harley much, considering that no accompanied howling was coming from the back seat.

I'm an adventurous traveler, unafraid of traveling alone or to new places. Recently friends and I ventured off to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
