Young Friends, Bo's Buddies and Rodeo..nothing gets better than that!

It's time to brush off your cowboy boots and put your cowboy hats on straight, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is right around the corner and sure to be a crowd pleaser like many that have come before. This Thursday night, the Young Friends of CanCare, the Young Professional group representing CanCare, Inc. and Bo's Buddies, the Young Professional group of Bo's Place, will host a social hour that is sure to be at the top of the eclectic inner looper's blackberry calendar alerts, to mix and mingle for two great causes, brush up on their two-steppin' skills and toast to the best time in Houston, the coming of the rodeo! The event kicks off at 6:30 with a $10.00 admission for non-members of either group's membership or chosen donation if you like. The evening will feature a Texas-sized party on the patio under the "rodeo tent" at Goode's Armadillo Palace, complimentary appetizers, drink specials all night long, treats by Cookies in Bloom, and the sounds of Bo Cox around 8:30p.m. Hope to see ya'll there!

Every third Wednesday of the month at the Artist SPEAKeasy, Spacetaker and a guest arts organization will host two to three artists from varying disciplines (visual, performing, literary, etc.) to present, in an informal atmosphere, creative dialogs/talks/presentations about their work followed by a question and answer session where the audience can glean further insight into the artist, the artist's aesthetic and creative process. The evening is designed not only to bring together artists and those who appreciate the arts, but also to introduce local artists to each other to encourage conversation and cross-disciplinary collaboration between artists and their chosen media.
